Choreographer Ganesh Acharya, on Thursday, was granted bail by a magistrate's court in Mumbai in a sexual harassment case. Acharay made his appearance in court on Thursday following which the relief was granted.
According to reports, a First Information Report (FIR) had been registered in February 2020 against the Bollywood choreographer for allegedly sexually harassing a woman.
According to a report in TOI, the FIR was registered at the Amboli Police Station and named two women Jayashree Kelkar and Preeti Lad, who are accused of beating up the woman on January 26.

For the unversed, in February lasy year, Ganesh was booked for sexually harassing a woman choreographer. As per the chargesheet, Ganesh Acharya and his assistant have been charged under sections 354-a (sexual harassment), 354-c (voyeurism), 354-d (stalking), 509 (insulting the modesty of any woman), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code.
Back in 2020, Ganesh Acharya was accused of sexual harassment by one of his assistants. The woman said she was exploited by the choreographer for not fulfilling Ganesh's sexual demands.
The woman had also stated that Ganesh forced her and even showed her pornography.
The woman even said that her membership with the Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association (IFTCA) was also cancelled. At that time Ganesh Acharya was the General Secretary of the Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association (IFTCA).
Interestingly, this was not the first time that Ganesh Acharya faced harassment charges. Actress Tanushree Dutta had earlier lashed out at the choreographer for spreading rumours about her and ruining her reputation.
