  • Bumrah later took Kohli's wicket
The ongoing India-Leicestershire warm-up match at Grace Road gave Indian players the rare opportunity to witness Virat Kohli face Jasprit Bumrah in red-ball cricket. While the two modern-day legends regularly take the field against each other in the Indian Premier League (IPL), this contest has not been possible in red-ball cricket as due to their hectic international schedules, the duo have not got the chance to play the Ranji Trophy for a number of years.
In the practice game, four Indian players which include Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, and Prasidh Krishna played for Leicestershire in order to ensure all members of India's touring party can get sufficient game time ahead of the one-off Test match against England at Edgbaston which will start on July 1.
This arrangement allowed Kohli and Bumrah to face each other with the red-ball which made for a dream contest for fans of the Indian cricket team. The ex-Indian skipper imposed his dominance on the star Indian fast-bowler and smashed for a sensational six. Kohli hit an upper-cut to Bumrah which flew over the off-side boundary for a maximum.
