Bentley introduces Bentayga S and Bentayga Azure with hybrid powertrains

Luxury auto manufacturer Bentley has extended its product portfolio with the addition of two new hybrid models i.e. Bentayga S hybrid and the Bentayga Azure hybrid. It produces a combined power output of 456 bhp and 700 nm of torque. The electric powertrain has a EV only range of upto 43 km.

Luxury auto manufacturer Bentley has extended its product portfolio with the addition of two new hybrid models i.e. Bentayga S hybrid and the Bentayga Azure hybrid. Both these luxury cars have different personalities and the customers can now have the option to choose from their hybrid versions as well. With the addition of these two new hybrids the company’s product lineup now equips half of its models with hybrid powertrains. Bentley currently has fourteen models in its lineup and seven of these are now available with hybrid powertrain options. Which means that Bentley is offering fifty percent of its products with hybrid powertrain options.
The Bentley Bentayga’s hybrid powertrain is a combination of a 3.0 L V6 petrol engine and electric motor with a new 18.0 kWh battery pack. It produces a combined power output of 456 bhp and 700 nm of torque. The electric powertrain has a EV only range of upto 43 km. In the EV mode the vehicle produces zero-emission and being an electric mode it is quite silent as well.

Bentley Bentayga S hybrid
The new Bentley Bentayga S hybrid is a four-door luxury SUV which gets even more sportier with the inclusion of a hybrid powertrain. It houses a hybrid powertrain which is a combination of a 3.0 L TFSI V6 petrol engine and a 100kW electric motor-generator with a 18 kWh battery pack, which produces a combined power output of 456 bhp and 700 nm of torque. The petrol engine standalone produces 335 bhp and 450 nm of torque and the electric motor produces 134 bhp and 400 nm of torque. The electric powertrain has a EV only range of upto 43 km. It can go from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 254 kmph.
Taking cues from its V8 avatar the new Bentayga S hybrid also comes equipped with a Sport mode which enhances the engine sound and driving experience by adding a more sporty character to the SUV. The Sport mode increases the chassis stiffness by fifteen percent. The car even adds sounds in the cabin with use of unique hybrid sports exhaust and can be tuned differently for front and rear passengers. The instrument cluster of the Bentley Bentayga S hybrid features ‘performance’ design dials similar to the ones found in the Bentayga Speed but with the addition of a PHEV power meter within the rev counter.

The Bentley Bentayga Azure hybrid features different personality and interiors compared to the other Bentayga models. It features a acoustically isolated cabin with minimal Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels. Its cabin is upto 26 percent quieter than its competitors with upto 27 percent power ride vibrations compared to its competitors. Bentley Bentayga Azure hybrid houses a hybrid powertrain which is a combination of a 3.0 L TFSI V6 petrol engine and a 100kW electric motor-generator with a 18 kWh battery pack, which produces a combined power output of 456 bhp and 700 nm of torque. The petrol engine standalone produces 335 bhp and 450 nm of torque and the electric motor produces 134 bhp and 400 nm of torque. The electric powertrain has a EV only range of upto 43 km. It can go from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 254 kmph. It offers a special front seat configuration, the front seats are 22-way adjustable with heating and ventilation feature to maintain the optimum body temperature of the occupant. Bentley is offering the Bentayga Azure hybrid with diamond quilted upholstery and three open-pore veneers – Dark Walnut, Crown-Cut Walnut and Koa. There is also a choice of 15 hide colours and colour splits, with contrast stitching as standard and seat piping as a no-cost option.
Bentley plans to offer its full product line-up with hybrid powertrain options by 2025 and they will also launch their first ever all-electric Bentley by 2025.
