Now, deliveries of the Simple One electric scooters are scheduled to start in September. However, the company has already registered 65,000 pre-bookings in July 2022 and one of the prime reasons behind this encouraging number has to be its range.

The Simple One electric scooter can do 203 km of range in the real world, and the company claims that in ideal conditions the electric scooter can be ridden for 236 km/single charge. No other electric scooter in India has managed to claim a range of 200+ kilometres. The Simple One scooter equips an 8.5 kW electric motor that can produce a peak torque of 72 Nm. The motor is powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery which till now is of the largest capacity in the segment.

Ola S1 Pro (ARAI certified range - 181 km/charge)

With a market share of 17.45%*, Ola Electric is the third biggest EV manufacturer in the country. By prioritising the S1 Pro, which has the maximum ARAI claimed range of 181 km/charge, the Bengaluru-based EV company sold 41,994 units* of the scooters. The company is also slated to launch its first electric car in 2024.

The Ola Electric S1 Pro is powered by a 5.5 kW motor that produces 58 Nm of torque at the motor shaft. It is powered by a 4 kWh battery capacity that has a true range of 170 km, but ARAI puts it at 181 km/single charge).

Okinawa Okhi90 (ARAI certified range - 160 km/charge)

Ranking second in the list of most sales in H1 CY2022, electric two-wheeler OEM, Hero Electric registered 44,084* units. This is an 18.32% market share in the EV segment. Its Hero Electric NYX HS500 ER from the City Speed (CX) series is a low-speed electric scooter wirth a maximum speed of 42 km/h. It has a claimed range of 138 km/charge if driven in ideal conditions.
