Continuing its positive run at the box office, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani headlined Jugjugg Jeeyo has maintained a good hold on its second Friday despite losing a substantial chunk of screens to two new releases of the week, Aditya Roy Kapur’s Rashtra Kavach Om and R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
Sharing the second Friday collection of Jugjugg Jeeyo, trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated that the Raj Mehta directorial has remained the first choice of the theatre-going audience. The 8-day total of the family drama stands at Rs 56.69 crore.
“#JugJuggJeeyo remains the first choice of moviegoers, despite two [new] prominent films taking away a chunk of its screens and shows... Biz should escalate on [second] Sat and Sun, given the trend... [Week 2] Fri 3.03 cr. Total: ₹ 56.69 cr. #India biz,” tweeted Taran.

On the other hand, the first major release of the week, Rashtra Kavach Om had a rather dull start and could only rake in Rs 1.51 crore on its first day.
“#RashtraKavachOm is dull on Day 1... National chains [#PVR, #INOX, #Cinepolis] find limited patronage, but mass belt records better occupancy [due to action]... Needs to cover lost ground on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 1.51 cr. #India biz,” shared Taran.
While the official collection of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is yet to be out, early reports suggest that Madhavan’s directorial debut has stayed below Rs 1 crore mark on its opening day. However, the biopic on ISRO scientist Nambi Nayarayan has received rave reviews and is expected to pick up through word of mouth.
As for Jugjugg Jeeyo, it will also need a healthy jump over the weekend to reach a respectable lifetime total. Backed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli.
