Navratri Puja 2022 Samagri list: Shardiya Navratri, the nine-day long festival dedicated to Maa Durga will commence tomorrow. Therefore, ahead of the auspicious event, check out the list of items you would need for performing puja rituals.

Shardiya Navratri, which falls in the Hindu month of Ashwin, is dedicated to Devi Durga, the consort of Lord Shiva. This Mother Goddess represents feminine power (Shakti), and hence devotees celebrate her arrival from her heavenly abode to the earth. The festivities commence on the first day (Pratipada), Ashwin Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the Moon).
Interestingly, the celebrations begin with a ritual called Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana. Check out this link to know more about it.

Navratri 2022 Puja Samagri
  • Samagri for Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana
  • A Kalash (copper/bronze/brass/silver). Never use steel or plastic.
  • Brown coconut with husk (whole)
  • A few Mango leaves or betel leaves
  • Haldi
  • Kumkum
  • Chandan
  • Akshat
  • Water
  • Currency coins
  • A piece of fresh red cloth (unused)
  • Flowers
  • An earthen tray or a plate bigger than the Kalash.
  • Soil or natural clay
  • Nav Dhanya (seeds of nine different grains)
  • Puja Samagri for Puja of Nav Durga (for nine days)
  • Goddess Durga's photo or idol made of Pancha Dhatu (five metals)
  • A chowki (raised wooden platform or a table for keeping the idol/photo frame of Maa Durga)
  • Fresh unused pieces of red cloth
  • Solah Shringar items (sindoor, mehendi, kajal, bindi, bangles, toe ring, comb, mirror, anklets, perfume, earrings, nosepin, necklace, red chunri, alta or mahavar, hairpins etc)
  • Sesame oil or mustard oil or ghee for the lamp (for Akhand Jyot)
  • Cotton wicks
  • Brass/silver lamp
  • Gangajal (for cleansing the puja area)
  • Dhoop
  • Agarbatti (incense sticks)
  • Coconut
  • Akshat
  • Paan and supari
  • Kumkum
  • Haldi
  • Chandan
  • Rosewater
  • Camphor (Kapur)
  • Sacred thread - Kalava (red and yellow)
  • Sweets (Naivedya) and bhog

  • Trays for arranging the offerings
  • Toran (door hangings) made of mango leaves for the main door
