Suzuki has officially discontinued the sales of their entry-level cruiser motorcycle, the Intruder 150. The motorcycle was first launched in 2017 and its dismal sales numbers lead to its end.

Suzuki Motorcycles has officially discontinued the Intruder 150 in India due to its dismal sales figures. Last year in June, the manufacturer sold 35 units of Hayabusas, a premium sports-tourer motorcycle, compared to which only 20 units of the mass-market Intruder 150 were sold. The entry-level cruiser motorcycle boasted a design heavily based on the bigger Intruder M800 and M1800 motorcycles.
The Intruder 150 shared the same engine as the Gixxer SF. Its 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine produced 14.59 hp and 14 Nm of torque, while transmission duties were handled by a 5-speed manual. The Intruder 150 was at first launched with a carburettor, which was later replaced by a fuel-injection set up. The latter made the motorcycle more efficient and smoother. Suzuki’s smallest cruiser motorcycle not only shared the Gixxer’s powertrain but also its frame and other cycle parts.

The Intruder 150 had a certain Japanese charm with its oddly positioned headlamp and unique body design in the segment. A tiny digital screen tacked in neatly between the aggressively styled handlebars. It came equipped with a twin exhaust design, and the motorcycle rode on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in thin tubeless tyres. Suspension duties were handled by 41-mm telescopic forks for the front and a mono-shock for the rear with pre-load. The Intruder 150 also equipped disc brakes at either end but came with single-channel ABS for the front.
During its production days, the Intruder 150 rivalled the Bajaj Avenger 150, another cruiser motorcycle that dominates the sales in its segment.
