Mumbai logs highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since July 9; one death due to infection, 282 recoveries reported

Mumbai's tally of daily Covid-19 cases touched a 15-day high on Wednesday as the city logged 434 fresh Covid-19 cases. Up from 329 a day ago, this is the highest daily count recorded in the city since July 9. Meanwhile, one casualty due to coronavirus infection was also reported.

Mumbai: The city on Wednesday logged 434 fresh Covid-19 cases, up from 329 a day ago. Of the 434 new COVID-19 cases, only 23 patients were symptomatic. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin, this is the highest daily count since July 9.
Meanwhile, one more patient died due to coronavirus infection in the city.
With the addition of new cases, the overall tally of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai rose to 11,25,740 while the death toll increased to 19,652.
Before this, the metropolis recorded the highest number of cases on July 9 with 499 new cases. On July 12, as many as 420 Covid-19 cases were detected in the city.
On Tuesday, August 2, the city logged 329 Covid-19 cases however, no fatalities due to the infection were reported.
As per today's bulletin, the new Covid-19 cases were detected after 10,725 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, pushing up their cumulative count to 1,78,52,794. A day before, 5,785 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the city.
The tally of recovered patients in the city also rose to 11,03,982 after 282 more people recovered from the infection, leaving the city with 2,106 active cases.
The city has a recovery rate of 98.1 per cent. The growth rate of COVID-19 stood at 0.025 per cent between July 27 and August 2, while the case doubling rate was 2,830 days
