Noida: Anu Tyagi, the wife of tainted Noida politician Shrikant Tyagi, on Wednesday said that her husband should have apologized to the woman who he allegedly assaulted. Tyagi said that her children are being treated badly by 'everyone' in the residential society and claimed that 'suddenly, everything has become illegal'.
"What happened was wrong, he should've apologized. The topic was that he insulted a woman. It should have been handled like that. But everything is now being dragged. Our car, trees, house, everything has suddenly become illegal," Tyagi said.
Tyagi claimed that the family was just planting trees when her husband was provoked. "He would have said sorry and apologised. I, my children are being treated very badly by everyone around us," she further added, news agency ANI quoted.
MLA sticker on Tyagi's vehicle was given by Swami Prasad Maurya: Police
Shrikant Tyagi, the self-proclaimed BJP leader, who has been accused of insulting a woman, was on the run since Friday after a video of him threatening a resident of Noida's Grand Omaxe residential society went viral. The Police had formed 12 teams to nab him and announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for giving information about him. Tyagi was nabbed by Noida Police in Meerut on Tuesday and has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody.
Addressing a press conference on the matter, the police, on Tuesday said that Tyagi was 'misusing' the Uttar Pradesh government emblem and the 'MLA' sticker on his vehicle, which was given to him by Swami Prasad Maurya. While seizing five vehicles owned by Tyagi, police also said that he paid heavy sums to get special number plates for those vehicles.
