Director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to Twitter, revealing that the way Vikram has been accepted by the audience has left him overwhelmed, adding that he hasn’t been this emotional ever.
While Lokesh wondered how he was going to repay the love audiences have showered on his film, actor Kamal Haasan advised him to not get complacent.
Vikram, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya, has set the cash registers on fire by minting over Rs 150 crore in just three days worldwide.
Lokesh thanked the audience and wrote, "I haven’t been this emotional ever. The acceptance u’ve showed #Vikram and me has been so overwhelming. I don’t know how I’m gonna repay you guys for all this love. Ever grateful to @ikamalhaasan sir and my amazing people. So moved. Love you all (sic)."

Kamal Haasan replied to Lokesh's tweet and said the only way to repay a loving audience is to "never become complacent".
“The only way you can do any debt management with a loving audience is to never become complacent. Do honest back breaking work, they love and respect that. My energy comes from their love. All power to your endeavours. RKFI will proudly support you like we did this time. Rock on (sic).” Haasan wrote.

With Vikram, Haasan has returned to the big screen after a gap of close to five years.
The film, which was dubbed and released in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, features Kamal Haasan in a role he originally played in the 1986 film of the same name. He returns as former agent Vikram of the coveted Black Squad, which used to work for the Indian government.
Vikram, which stars Suriya in a cameo, sets up the stage for a franchise in the making. Going by some crucial moments in the movie, Suriya could be playing the antagonist in Karthi’s Kaithi 2 and the next part in the Vikram franchise.
