Mumbai: Following Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray's emotional appeal to the rebel MLAs to 'come back and talk,' NCP leader Supriya Sule talked to reporters and supported Thackeray's stance saying that 'dialogue is a must.' "Uddhav Thackeray has always been ready for dialogue.' "Dialogue is a must and the only way to resolve differences," she said.
"Don't talk through social media and television. Come to Mumbai and talk. Dialogue should never stop. It only leads to confusion. Uddhav Thackeray made an appeal to you as an elder brother," the NCP leader added. Supriya Sule further stressed that 'governments will come and go but these relations will last forever.'
Further, while responding to questions from reporters about an impending floor test in the Maharashtra Assembly and the NCP's stand on the same, Supriya Sule noted that the rebel Sena MLA Eknath Shinde doesn't have the majority. "Eknath Shinde doesn't have the majority number of 144. He only has 50 from what I have heard, so it can't be said that he has the majority," she said.
Talking about Uddhav Thackeray's emotional appeal to the rebel MLAs, Supriya Sule asserted that 'if someone from the family has left, then the whole family should try to bring them back.' "I am very proud of CM Uddhav Thackeray. Today, in the absence of Balasaheb, he (Uddhav) has made a sensitive appeal to his MLAs...I am not an astrologer, but I feel that if someone from the family has left, then the whole family should try to bring them back," she said.
Supriya Sule further noted that some of the rebel MLAs who were earlier with NCP are now targeting the party. "Those who're speaking against NCP were once in NCP. Deepak bhau was in NCP, Uday Samant was in the party's youth wing. What hurts me is that when they left NCP, we didn't say bad words to them, but now they are targetting us," she said.
The NCP leader also addressed the issue of Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in connection with a land scam. "Anyone who is speaking against the government is getting ED notices. Such things are not good for the country and the constitution. Central agencies should remain independent," the NCP leader said.
