As per the latest news on Mirror Now, the Supreme Court has directed that a counter affidavit should be filed within 4 weeks in Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair's case. The Supreme Court extended Zubair's interim bail till further orders in a case filed by UP police in Sitapur for harming religious sentiments through a Tweet, in which he referred to a few Hindu seers as "hatemongers". It additionally gave time to the state to record its reaction in four weeks or less. The request was passed by a division bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna while adjourning the plea recorded by Zubair challenging the Allahabad High Court's refusal to quash the said FIR.
