Folks, congratulations are in order for Ather Energy: the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer recently announced it has rolled out the 25,000th unit of its popular 450X electric scooter in India. The company, which manufactures the Ather 450X at its manufacturing facility in Hosur, explained that this production milestone was achieved in a little over two years since the e-scooter's production was started. The first unit of the Ather 450X was rolled out from the aforementioned facility on 28 January, 2020; the 25,000th one was rolled out on 4 March, 2022. 450X electric two-wheeler remains among the leading names in the segment, where the EV faces competition from names such as Bajaj Chetak electric, TVS iQube, Ola S1, etc.
In a post on its social media handles, Ather Energy noted "Ather 450X number 🎈25,000🎈 just marked it's attendance! From the 1st one on 28th January, 2020 to the 25,000th one on 4th March, 2022 — what an electrifying journey it has been! ⚡️"
The 450X comes equipped with a whole lot of distinctive features, including a seven-inch capacitative touchscreen, Android-based OS for map navigation, on-board diagnostics, Bluetooth connectivity, embedded 4G simcard, etc. Other provisions include park assist system with reverse and forward mode, regenerative braking, 22-litres of storage capacity, and illuminated under-seat boot.
Ather 450X is powered by a belt-driven hub motor and a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, delivering 8 bhp with a peak torque of 26 Nm. Ather 450X is claimed to deliver a riding range of 85 km per charge in Eco mode. The Ather scooter also features a new Warp mode which allows it to accelerate from 0 km/h to 40 km/h in 3.29 seconds and from standstill to 60 km/h in 6.5 seconds. Oh and the scooter can be charged up to 80 per cent in an hour.
