Ola Electric has announced that it has managed to ramp up the sales figures just ahead of the festive season in India. As per Vahan Data, the company sold 9,634 units in September this year which is almost thrice the numbers it did back in August 2022 at 3,421 units.
The company further announced that it has recorded a sharp growth in sales with the strategy of expanding its portfolio with the new Ola S1. The company says that the new scooter managed to boost sales soon after its launch. It had sold more than 10,000 S1 scooters on the first day of opening the purchase window. Moreover, its S1 Pro electric scooter is also performing 'well' in the premium segment, the company added. "With high demand, popular products and growth of market share to nearly 20% in September, Ola is pegged to lead the segment and will continue to be on top of the chart even in the next quarter," Ola announced in a press release recently.
To boost sales this festive season, it has also announced a new Navratri offer on its Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. (More details here)
The company has recently expanded its D2C retail footprint in the country with the opening up of 20 experience centres last month. It will further be ramping up these numbers to reach the count of 200 centres in India by March 2023.
Meanwhile, the competition in the electric two-wheeler segment is about to get tougher as Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch its dedicated Hero Vida electric brand in the country soon. The first electric scooter from this brand will be announced in the country soon and will rival the likes of already established competitors such as Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Simple One and more.
