Ahmedabad: In a dramatic rescue mission, an injured fisherman was saved by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Saturday using a rescue helicopter and ship. According to reports, the injured fisherman was on board a boat in the Porbandar Sea.
The ICG Station in Pipavav carried out the rescue mission after receiving information from the Fisheries Association in Jafrabad regarding the injured fisherman named Dhan Prasad.
The ICG Station dispatched a helicopter and a ship for the rescue operation after getting the information, news agency IANS reported.
The helicopter helped the ship in reaching the boat after confirming the position.
When the ship arrived at the boat, a medical crew stabilised the injured fisherman with first aid before rescuing him.
Dhan Prasad has been turned over to the Fisheries Association and is said to be in good health.
This is the second time in the previous 48 hours that a similar rescue effort has taken place.
