Jugjugg Jeeyo box office day 4: Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani's film sees a slight dip on first Monday, rakes in overall Rs 40 crore

Jugjugg Jeeyo found its way to the web even before the trailer launch. The buzz around the cast and the main plot of the film left cine-goers intrigued from the word go. With songs being released, B-Town celebs went on to join the trend of making reels and one video after another, Jugjugg Jeeyo soon went on to become one of the most anticipated films of the year.

And with the first-day opening, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's film went on to become the fifth-highest opening of the year at the box office. But seems like the film is now experiencing a downward trend on the first Monday.

After earning over Rs 36 crore in the first weekend, the film has reportedly dropped by almost 50%. A report by Box Office India further adds, "Ideally the drop the drop should have been more towards the 35-40% range but it will end up just about on the right side of 50% and this will actually be thanks to the mass pockets which have dropped less due to their low start on Friday and lesser of a ticket pricing drop in these places. At the end of the day the film has not held up well but neither has it crashed."

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh went on to share the figures of Day 4 and wrote, "#JugJuggJeeyo remains steady at national multiplexes, which is driving its biz... #Delhi - #NCR remain key contributors... Decline on Mon [vis-à-vis Fri]: 48.06%... Fri 9.28 cr, Sat 12.55 cr, Sun 15.10 cr, Mon 4.82 cr. Total: ₹ 41.75 cr. #India biz."

Directed by Raj Mehta, the film is backed by Dharma Productions. The movie is based on two couples and how they are at the brim of getting a divorce. The film also stars Tisca Chopra, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli.
