PM Modi Vindicated Again In 2002 Gujarat Riots Case, Why SC Called The Petition 'Devoid Of Merits'?

The Supreme Court on June 24 dismissed a review petition challenging the clean chit given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 Gujarat riots. The top court said the plea, filed by Zakia Jafri, wife of former Congress MP who was killed in the riots, is “devoid of merits”. Riots had broken out in Gujarat on February 27, 2022, after a train coach carrying Hindu pilgrims was burnt a day before, killing 59 people. Modi, who was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, was eventually cleared of any complicity in the riots by a Supreme Court-appointed SIT in 2012.#NarendraModi #GujaratRiots #ZakiaJafri
