According to Midday report, Raj Kundra has claimed that he was framed in the case by "senior officers of Mumbai Crime Branch". He even requested an investigation into the case. According to the reports, Raj has alleged in his letter to CBI, "I have lived in silence for one year; ripped apart by a media trial and spent 63 days in Arthur Road Jail. I seek justice from the courts, which I know I will get, and I humbly request an investigation against these officers."
Earlier, Raj had filed the discharge application before a magistrate's court in Mumbai. According to PTI, the application stated that police found no evidence that Raj made monetary or any other kind of gain from the alleged offense.
The Mumbai Police Branch has also filed its reply opposing Raj Kundra's application for discharge from the case.
Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with the creation and publishing of pornographic films. The case was registered under the sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act at the Malwani police station. According to the police, Raj is the key conspirator. In August 2022, Raj filed a plea seeking discharge in the porn racket case.
