Bengaluru: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai have taken a decision against "40 per cent commission" complaints in the state.
He also claimed that no youth in Karnataka is getting a job despite lakhs of vacancies in government jobs.
While addressing a gathering in Karnataka's Kalale Gate area, Rahul Gandhi said, "Karnataka's contractor association wrote letter to PM that in Karnataka 40% of commission is being stolen. PM took no action. 40% commission was taken from 13000 school associations, neither PM nor CM took any action."
"No youth in Karnataka can get a job. There are 2.5 lakh vacancies in govt...There's police sub-inspector scam, KPSC scam, Assistant Professor scam in universities, but no action is taken as all the money goes to one organisation," he added.
The Congress leader today resumed the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Tondavadi Gate in the Gundlupet region of Karnataka's Chamarajanagar. Today marked the yatra's 24th day, which began at 6.30 am and reached its first break point at Kalale Gate near Servo Motors at 10 am.
After resuming from Kalale Gate at 4.30 pm, the Congress leader walked to Chikkayana Chatra Thandavapura in Mysore by 7 pm.
The participants of the 3,500-km march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir stayed opposite the Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT) in Thandavapura of Mysore at night.
The march is aimed to cover as many as 12 states in five months. It recently reached Karnataka on Friday (September 30) and will be here for the next 21 days before moving north.
The Padyatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 km every day.
