Indian Army recruitment rally for 'Agniveers' underway in Haryana's Hisar

Hisar: The Indian Army has started a recruitment drive for 'Agniveers' in the Hisar district of Haryana. Major General Ranjan Mahajan said that today was the third day of the recruitment rally covering four districts. "We are conducting it on the occasion of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' which makes it even more significant. Four more rallies are underway in other cities," Major General Ranjan Mahajan said as per news agency ANI.

Speaking to the news agency, an aspirant, Gagan Tiwari, said he had dreamt of joining the army since he was a child. "I started preparing two years ago. There are adequate arrangements for food and water here. The 'Agniveer' is a welcome scheme," Tiwari said.

The Centre rolled out a new recruitment scheme - Agnipath - for defence forces in June this year. The youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. Under the shechme, soldiers will be recruited for a period of four years. After four years, 25 per cent will be retained and the rest will be sent back.

Earlier this week, the Indian Army informed that Agniveer recruitment rally is scheduled from 27 November to 29 November 2022 at Police Recruit School, Vellore, Tamil Nadu to enroll candidates as Agniveer General Duty (Women) in corps of Military Police into the Army from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Union Territory of Puducherry (Karaikal, Yanam and Puducherry) and Andaman & Nicobar Island (Nicobar, North & Middle Andaman and South Andaman).

The registration for Recruitment Rally is open from 9 August 2022 to 7 September 2022.

Candidates who will apply online are only eligible to attend the said Rally. Admit cards will be issued online with effect from 1st November 2022. The date of reporting at the rally site will be intimated on admit card and the applicant can take a printout of admit card after 1st November 2022 from - www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
