The counting of votes took place for three Lok Sabha and seven assembly seats spread across five states. Counting began at 8 am under heavy security arrangements. In Uttar Pradesh's Rampur, BJP candidate Ghanshyam Lodhi won with a margin of over 40,000 votes, while party nominee Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' is ahead in Azamgarh. Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua', BJP's candidate from Azamgarh seat, tweets about winning the bypoll saying that's it a victory of the people & workers of the party.
