'It's Har Ghar Cheen Ka Jhanda': Massive row erupts over Tiranga as Congress throws another charge at Centre

The Centre has started a 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence. The government is encouraging the people to hoist Tiranga at their homes between 13 to 15 August.
New Delhi: A massive row has erupted over Tiranga with the Congress alleging that 90 per cent tricolours are now coming from China. Senior Congress leader Ajoy Kumar has said that earlier, Khadi was used to making Tiranga but now it is coming from China. "Now, it is not about 'Har Ghar Tiranga but Har Ghar Cheen ka Jhanda," he said while speaking to reporters. He said Congress had demanded the central government to get tricolors produced by people working in Khadi but the "PM Modi has a special love for China". The Congress leader also targeted the Centre saying the RSS has not yet unfurled Tiranga but it wants everyone else to unfurl it at their homes.
The Centre has started a 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence. The government is encouraging the people to hoist Tiranga at their homes between 13 to 15 August. However, Congress has opposed the move saying it has been hoisting the flag for years and that there was no need to run this campaign.
Ajoy's remarks come just a day after former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said that those running the 'Har Ghar Tricolour' campaign have come out of an anti-national organization, in an apparent referred to the RSS. Gandhi also met with the people from Karnataka Khadi Village Industries.
"It was a great pleasure to meet all the colleagues of Karnataka Khadi Village Industries. History is a witness that those running the 'Har Ghar Tricolor' campaign have come out of the anti-national organization which did not hoist the tricolor for 52 years. From the freedom struggle, they could not stop the Congress party even then and will not be able to stop it even today," he said on Wednesday.
However, the RSS shot back at Rahul saying the organization announced its support for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and that there should be no politics over it. "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is for the entire country. RSS announced its support for and participation in all such programs by the Centre, State Governments, or any other organisation. There should be no politics on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav; should focus on celebration," RSS leader Sunil Ambekar said.
