Google just made practicing for job interviews easier
Google has just made preparing for a job interview simpler with the new interview warmup tool. Practicing with your friends and family or reading generic guides on Pinterest is now a thing of the past, Google believes its algorithms can help you get ready for a job interview.
Originally designed to help Google Career Certificate learners prepare for job interviews, Interview Warmup now is available for anyone to use.
Google Interview Warmup tool uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help users prepare for interviews in multiple roles like
  • Data Analytics
  • E-Commerce
  • IT Support
  • Project Management
  • UX Design
  • General
The tool needs your microphone to be switched on and asked classic questions like “Tell me a bit about yourself”. It then analyses your voice or typed responses for areas of improvement. “Your answers are transcribed in real time so you can review what you said and discover patterns in your responses,” says Google. The tool will advise you about ‘most-used words’ and if you need to talk about certain things more along certain terms that you ought to be using. The questions revolve around three types
  1. Background questions – Past training and experiences
  2. Situational questions – How do you dealt with a situation in the past and how would you in future
  3. Technical questions – Knowledge and skills specific
The Interview warm tool is completely private, Google states “We don't save your audio or the transcripts of your answers. That means all your Interview Warmup data is private to you. If you would like to save your answers, you can do that by copying the text of a single response, or downloading the full transcript at the end of the interview.”
