Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced the launch of the first-of-its-kind outdoor campaign ‘Floating Showroom in the Backwaters of Kerala’. The company said that this has been rolled out to celebrate the Onam festival, Kerala’s most celebrated festival.
The company said that it wants to take the 'market closer' to its customers and further penetrate the far-away regions of Kerala. HMSI also added that its new campaign pays 'homage to Kerala’s iconic character' which resonates with the region's backwaters that not only support the local tribes but is also attraction points for tourists from around the world.
The company's Floating Boat showroom has already started its seven-day voyage ahead of Onam festival, from Arookutty and covered over 15 locations before anchoring at the scenic shores of Alleppey. "We wanted to create an experience for our local audience and narrate a story that would be relatable to them. Through the floating showroom activation, we are delighted that our connection with our consumers has grown stronger,” said Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.
The Activa-maker said that it is the 'first to introduce' such an advertising concept in India. "The result achieved so far is a testimony of Honda’s strong customer connect and we are optimistic that this will contribute to building better and prolonged relations with our audience," added Ogata.
Meanwhile, the company has recently surpassed Hero MotoCorp to become the leading two-wheeler seller in September 2022. As per the Indian government’s Vahan portal, over 285,400 two-wheelers were sold by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, across the country as against over 251,939 two-wheelers units retailed by Hero Motocorp. Needless to mention, both have been erstwhile partners who parted ways over a decade back in India.
