Today is the Chaturthi Tithi (Day 4), Ashwin, Krishna Paksha (waning or dark phase of the Lunar cycle), Budhwar (Wednesday). However, those following the Pitru Paksha shall perform the Panchami Shraddh today. Nonetheless, devotees of Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva may observe a vrat and perform puja. Read on to know what astrologer Pandit Sujeet Ji Maharaj says about today's Panchang:
- Worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu
- Read the Shri Sukt, Hanuman Bahuk and the Aranyakand.
- Perform Rudrabhishek in a Shiva Temple by offering milk, Gangajal, honey, and Bel Patra (Vilva leaves). Also, plant a tree in a Shiva temple.
- Offer Durva to Lord Ganesha.
- Worship Lord Hanuman and donate masoor and gud (jaggery).
- You may also observe a vrat.
The former is based on the Lunar cycle that ends with the Full Moon Day (Purnima), while the latter is influenced by the Lunar phase that ends with the New Moon Day (Amavasya).
