Mumbai logs 116 Covid-19 cases, one fatality

With the recovery rate in Mumbai at 98.2 per cent, the city now has 686 active cases of Coronavirus infection.

Mumbai: As many as 116 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Mumbai on Wednesday taking the tally of positive cases in the city to 1,150,033. Meanwhile, one patient succumbed to the viral infection taking the death toll in the city to 19,731.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin showed that a total of 109 that is 94 per cent of the new cases logged in the city were asymptomatic. Seven patients were hospitalised while three were on oxygen support.
These numbers came out of the 8,896 swab sample tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours. The city is now left with 686 active cases.
With 111 patients recovering and getting discharged, the total number of recoveries in the financial capital has reached 1,129,616.
The recovery rate in Mumbai is at 98.2 per cent.
The overall growth rate of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai was 0.09 per cent for the period between September 20 and September 26, while the doubling rate was 7,860 days, the bulletin said.
The financial capital on Tuesday recorded 85 new cases of Covid-19 and no death due to the infection was reported.
The Metropolis on Monday logged 51 fresh cases of Covid-19 while one patient succumbed to the viral infection.
As per the health bulletin issued on Monday, eight out of 51 new patients were symptomatic and have been admitted to a hospital and four of them are on oxygen support.
On Sunday, 108 new Covid cases were reported while no deaths due to the infection were seen in the city.
