BYD Exports 1200 units of Yuan Pro BEVs to Costa Rica

Chinese manufacturers, BYD has exported 1200 units of the Yuan Pro battery-electric SUVs to Costa Rica. Thus setting the sales record in the Latin America nation with most units exported.

Chinese manufacturer, BYD aka Build Your Dreams have exported 1200 units of the Yuan Pro BEV to Costa Rica. The cars are sold via Cori Motors, the official distributor of BYD in the Latin American nation.
As for the SUVs, the Yuan Pro aka S1 Pro is designed with the company’s latest Dragon Face 3.0 design. It features large and thick tires, and the SUV is powered by a lithium iron phosphate Blade battery mated to a permanent magnet synchronous single motor. The total power output of the vehicle is rated at 134 hp with 210 Nm of torque, which enables the car to accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 3.9 seconds. With its battery fully charged, the Yuan Pro can cover 401 km of range.

Costa Rica is leading the decarbonization transition among Latin American countries. The country introduced their national decarbonization plan wherein it aims to have 70% of its public transportation running on electricity by 2035.
BYD’s wide range of electric vehicles is in line with the country’s local demand. In fact, BYD ranked first in Costa Rica’s new energy vehicle market for three consecutive years. In the first quarter of 2022, the Chinese manufacturer accounted for about 50% of the local NEVs market with a Y-o-Y sales growth of 220%.
