10-year-old Siberian Husky swims 2.4 kilometres out into sea off New Jersey shore in US, rescued

Emergency responders in New Jersey, USA, rescued a dog that forgot how to dog and embraced the do-lphin within him to swim 1.5 miles from shore before ending up being separated from his owner.
Officers at the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office teamed up with the Marine 1 Unit to rescue a 10-year-old Siberian Husky named Caiden, who was reported in distress after swimming out 2.4 kilometres into Raritan Bay off Union Beach.
“Once the Sheriff's Officers located Caiden, they brought him on board, navigating shallow waters to reunite him with his grateful owner,” the MCSO said in a Facebook post.
Caiden was reportedly returned to his humans uninjured. However, it remains unclear if the Siberian Husky was taking the North Atlantic Ocean route via the Labrador Sea back home in the Arctic Circle.
While the effort is nothing short of incredible, another dog that recently broke away may have a one-up on the Husky.
A couple from the state of Kansas had been vacationing in Las Vegas when their dog, Dexter, managed to escape a highly-secure pet hotel and ran 3.2 kilometres home to ring the doorbell.
The Ring doorbell camera detected motion outside the door and alerted the owners.
His owner, Jeremy Henson, revealed that the dog had jumped a 6-foot fence and hopped another 4-foot retainer fence at the boarding facility in order to get home.
"We kept thinking it has to be another dog," he recounted with USA Today. "Nope, that's definitely Dexter," the couple told each other.
