EU Proposes New Sanctions Against Russia
The European Union has proposed fresh sanctions against Russia, including tighter trade restrictions, more individual blacklistings and an oil price cap for third countries. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen added that the EU will not accept the sham referendum or any kind of annexation of Ukraine. EU's proposal will now go to the bloc's 27 member countries, which will need to overcome their differences on the new sanctions in
order to implement them.

Over 8 billion dollars have been pledged by private corporates and non-profits toward U.S President Joe Biden's

Hurricane Ian Weakens To Category 2 Storm
Hurricane Ian weakened to a Category 2 hurricane packing maximum winds of 105 miles per hour, after making
landfall in Florida. The National Hurricane Center said the eye of the "extremely dangerous" hurricane slammed into
the barrier island of Cayo Costa. Cuba faced a complete blackout after Hurricane Ian pummelled the western end of
the island...Two people were reported dead and buildings were damaged nationwide... At least 26 states had sent
assistance to Florida before the storm made landfall.

FIFA has released a 3-episode series on the life and career of Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri.
With 84 strikes to his name, Chhetri is the third on the list of active footballers with the most number of international goals. Chhetri is right behind football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the coveted list.
