Madhya Pradesh: 9-year-old girl raped by father in Gwalior as her mother leaves home after fight

Police said the alleged crime took place when the girl was alone with her father as his wife left home following a fight over some domestic issue on Tuesday.

Bhopal: In a horrific incident reported from Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, a man raped his 9-year-old daughter following a fight with his wife. The accused targeted the his daughter after his wife left for maternal house after the quarrel.

The accused has fled the home after the incident. The man works as a carpenter. The matter came to light after the girl's mother returned home on Wednesday morning.

The girl was crying when her mother came home. Upon being asked, the victim narrated her ordeal following which the woman approached police and filed a complaint according to a report in Times of India.

Police said the alleged crime took place when the girl was alone with her father as his wife left home following a fight over some domestic issue on Tuesday.

The man returned home drunk and raped his daughter. The accused also reportedly threatened his daughter of serious consequences if she revealed the matter.

Police have now registered a case under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Man rapes girl over spending tine on phone

In a similar incident reported from Andhra Pradesh in January 2022, a man allegedly sexually assaulted his minor daughter in Visakhapatnam district. Police later arrested the 42-year-old accused.

The crime took place when the man's wife left the house to visit her maternal home leaving behind her 15-year-old daughter. The accused, who is a trader, then raped his daughter repeatedly for months.

The matter came to light when the victim did not leave school even after school hours. She was then questioned by one of her teachers about why she wasn't going home. The girl then informed the teacher about how her father had been sexually assaulting her for months.

Later, a police complaint was filed with the help of girl's her teacher.

Police later said the man sexually assaulted her daughter as he was angry with her for spending too much time on her mobile phone.
