Bengaluru: Techie dies after falling from terrace while trying to hoist national flag

Bengaluru News: Vishwas Kumar reportedly went to the terrace to hoist the national flag. He climbed the parapet wall of the terrace to tie the flag but slipped and fell to the ground.

Bengaluru: A 33-year-old software engineer died after falling from the second-floor terrace of his building while trying to hoist the national flag on Sunday. The incident took place in the Hennur area in Bengaluru, as per a report by The Times of India.
The deceased has been identified as Vishwas Kumar, a software engineer working with a private IT firm in the city. He was living with his wife Vyshali, two-year-old daughter, and parents on the ground floor of the two-floor building in V Block, HBR Layout in the Hennur area.
The family hails from Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. He was the only son of his parents. His father, Narayan Bhat is a priest, reported TOI.
Though Vishwas was rushed to the hospital immediately, he was reported dead due to multiple injuries.
On Sunday at around 1.45 pm, Vishwas Kumar reportedly went to the terrace to hoist the national flag. He climbed the parapet wall of the terrace wall to raise the flag but accidentally slipped while trying to tie it to the pole and fell to the ground. He receive severe head injuries in the fall which led to death after a few hours.
"Narayan Bhat (Kumar's father) and Vyshali rushed him to Sagar Apollo Hospital. However, he succumbed to head injuries at around 5 pm," said Hennur Police as by TOI.
