New Delhi: Certain habits can affect our health adversely and end up being the reason behind us falling ill every now and then. While it might be easy to adopt the bad habits, it's fairly difficult to develop the good ones.
Unhealthy habits
Here are a few habits that we must do away with to stay healthy:
  1. Not getting sufficient sleep: Sleeping late at night and waking up early gives the body a few hours to rest and recover from the previous day’s hustle. Our bodies need at least eight hours of sleep to ensure holistic health and wellbeing. This can also prepare us for the morning that will follow and help us feel fresh and rejuvenated.
  2. Eating junk and processed food: Sometimes, the urge to eat junk food from the street side shop or the food courts at shopping malls is inevitable. While it is okay to indulge in such cravings once in a while, eating them regularly can cause serious health issues. Also, processed and canned food contains preservatives that can mess with the body. It is therefore advisable to avoid them.
  3. Not being physically active: The pandemic and the work-from-home model have made us quite inactive. The after work hours are also spent in front of the screen watching movies or OTT shows. It is important that our bodies remain physically active because it improves our blood circulation and cardiovascular health. If you can't afford a high-intensity interval training routine, at least try walking for 10-15 mins every day.
  4. Not eating breakfast: Missing the first meal of the day could lower your energy levels and increase the risk of developing diseases. Start your day with a healthy, protein-rich breakfast which will help you stay energised and healthy the entire day.
