Jammu and Kashmir: 2 JeM terrorists killed in Kulgam encounter

Srinagar: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were shot dead by security forces on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam, a day after a militant of the proscribed terror outfit was killed in an encounter in the district.
According to a police official, security forces conducted a search and cordon operation in the Ahwatoo area of Kulgam district following information about militant activity there.
After militants opened fire at the security forces, the search operation turned into an encounter.
The terrorists, who were killed on Tuesday, have been identified as Md Shafi Ganie and Md Asif Wani. Local youths were recruited into terror ranks by foreign terrorist Hurarah, said police.
They added that incriminating materials, arms and ammunitions, including one AK-56, two AK-47, one pistol, one grenade, four magazines and one pistol magazine, were recovered from both the sites of encounters in Kulgam.
Earlier, Additional DGP (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar said that two JeM terrorists had been trapped in the cordoned area.
"Two local #terrorists of proscribed #terror outfit JeM trapped in the ongoing #encounter. Both the trapped terrorists are involved in several terror crime cases," tweeted Kumar.
Both terrorists were shot dead, according to a police spokesman.
A JeM terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Kulgam district on Monday. According to police, two civilians and a soldier were also injured in the encounter in Batpora village.
