What is monkeypox?
According to the World Health Organisation, monkeypox is a viral disease with symptoms similar to that of smallpox. Characterised by rashes and blisters that develop over the body or inside the mouth, this disease is relatively less severe, yet, with the increasing incidence globally, it is essential to contain it on priority.
