Who can ever forget the episode of Koffee With Karan 3 featuring Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone? The two B-town divas had set several tongues wagging when they took potshots at Ranbir Kapoor in the chat show. Deepika and Sonam, who made their respective debut at the same time, had roasted the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor while responding to Karan's questions.
When Karan Johar had asked Deepika Padukone what she would gift her ex-boyfriend Ranbir, she had replied, "A box of condoms." Her sensational remark had become the talk of the town as she took a dig at the Kapoor lad.
Sonam Kapoor had also said that she wasn't sure if Ranbir would make a good boyfriend. When KJo asked the Veere Di Wedding actress to comment on Deepika and Ranbir's relationship, she had said, "Deepika did a great job hanging onto Ranbir for so long."
Ranbir, while appearing on Simi Garewal's India's Most Desirable, had reacted to Deepika and Sonam's digs at him on KWK. The Sanju actor had talked about his relationship with Deepika and said that it would be more graceful of her if she would call him rather than speak about him on a public platform.
“I still respect Deepika a lot. I had a beautiful relationship with her. She has some angst against me...I think it would have been more graceful of her if she had picked up the phone and speak to me about it rather than speaking on a public platform. She didn't do that. But still, I respect her. Still wish her all the best in life," Ranbir had told Simi Garewal on her show.
"Sonam, I have no idea why she said the things on the show. It's fine. If people won't to make fun of me or ridicule me, it's their life," he had while talking about Sonam, with whom he shared screen-space in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sawaariya.
Post their breakup, Ranbir and Deepika worked together in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Tamasha. They had also starred in Bachna Ae Haseeno, which released in 2009.
After ending her relationship with the Barfi star, Deepika found love in Ranveer Singh. The Piku actress got married to Ranveer in an intimate ceremony in Lake Como in November 2018.
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Karan Malhotra's Shamshera. The period action drama co-starring Sanjay Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor is slated to hit the silver screens on July 22, 2022.
