The latest in the Marvel universe, Thor: Love and Thunder, is running strong at the box office. Starring Chris Hemsworth, the film was released on July 7. Despite a gigantic opening, the film tumbled a bit mid-week, only to pick up pace towards the weekend. The film has managed to rake in Rs 78 cr in its first week. While the week 1 collection remains its lowest compared to the other films in the Marvel universe, it has still managed to fare better than the films released with it.
Surprisingly, Thor: Love and Thunder's week 1 collection stands nowhere near that of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange.
The superhero drama made a whopping Rs 18.60 crore on Day 1. The massive opening made trade analysts speculate that the film might even cross the Rs 100 cr mark in its first week. But, the footfall took a big hit from Day 2 with a 40% decline. On Day 2, the film managed to make Rs 11.40 cr. Now, it remains to be seen how long will the film take to cross the Rs 100 cr mark.
On the other hand, Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi’s Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha has been running at its own pace at the box office right from its opening day. The film, which released on July 8 has managed to rake in Rs 9.15 crore to date. R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect too has not managed to create any box office magic. The film, which released on July 1, remains at Rs 31.15 crore.

The film that is turning out to be a heavy lifter is Dharma Productions' Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Despite several weeks since its release, the film has maintained a tight grip on the BO numbers. Despite its release on June 24, the film has no dearth of moolah coming its way. With crossing the 100-crore mark with its worldwide earnings, the Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor film can easily be called one of the best performing films of the year.
