Soon after the release of JoSAA Allotment Round 1 Result 2022, candidates will have three options with them– Freeze, Float and Slide. Candidates will have to choose one of these three options and proceed with the admissions process. Here’s what these options mean.
Freeze – Candidates have an option of choosing freeze option which indicates that they would not participate in the counselling anymore. It is a final ‘lock’ on the seat offered and once freeze is accepted, the seat is provisionally allotted to the candidate.
Float – Candidates should go with the float option only when they want to accept the allotted seat but if admission is offered to an academic program of higher preference, they can accept seat in subsequent rounds of JoSAA Counselling. Float keeps the option of students moving from one institute to other.
Slide – When a candidate chooses the 'Slide' option, it means that they have accepted the offered seat but if admission is offered to an academic program of higher preference in the 'same institute,' they will accept it in subsequent rounds of JoSAA Counselling. Even such candidates will be considered for other rounds of counselling.
Candidates should know that if they don’t get a seat in this round, they can wait for the results of successive rounds. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website to not miss any updates.
