Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's death was due to 'sudden cardiac arrest': Breach Candy Hospital issues statement

The hospital statement also said that the billionaire investor was suffering from chronic kidney disease and was on dialysis.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who passed away at the age of 62 on Sunday morning, suffered a "sudden cardiac arrest" which caused his death, Dr Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai said in an official statement.
The statement also said that the billionaire investor was suffering from chronic kidney disease and was on dialysis. He was unwell for the past few days and breathed his last in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
“Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had a sudden cardiac arrest which was the cause of his death. He was also suffering from chronic kidney disease, was on chronic dialysis and was responding well. He was diabetic and had recently undergone an angioplasty,” Samdani said in the statement.
Jhunjhunwala, dubbed ‘India's own Warren Buffet’, was born on July 5, 1960. By profession, he was a chartered accountant and got attracted to stock market trading and investment very early in his life.
PM Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman, Union Commerce Minister Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and others tweeted their condolences on Jhunjhunwala’s demise.
He was brought to Mumbai's Candy Breach Hospital at 6:45 AM in the morning and was declared dead. Jhunjhunwala is survived by his wife Rekha, two sons, and a daughter.
