When the makers of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Dhaakad unveiled the trailer of the film, movie buffs expressed their excitement on seeing a female-led action thriller. The Razneesh Ghai directorial co-starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta managed to make waves on social media, courtesy of its trailer and action-packed sequences. However, when the movie released in the theatres, it failed to attract the audience and register a decent opening.
Dhaakad, which clashed with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, couldn't post a decent total and was pulled off cinema halls due to low occupancy.

Breaking her silence over Dhaakad's box office debacle, Kangana shared a post on social media and said that 2022 is not over yet, and promise to deliver blockbuster content. She posted a screenshot that called her 'The box office queen of India'.
"2019 I gave Manikarnika 160 crore ka supehit film. 2020 was Covid year, 2021 I have biggest film of my career, Thalaivii, which came on OTT and was huge success," the Panga actress wrote on her Instagram story.
The Pahadi beauty, who made her digital debut with Lock Upp, cited its example and said that she has 'great hopes' for the remaining months of the year.
“I see lots of curated negativity but 2022 is the year of blockbuster Lock Upp and it’s not over yet. I have great hopes with it," she added.

While Dhaakad failed miserably, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 managed to rake in big moolah. The horror comedy has entered the Rs 150-crore club on Sunday (June 5).
Kangana Ranaut's upcoming films
Although Dhaakad couldn't set the cash registers jingling, Kangana has pinned hope on her upcoming projects. She has several exciting movies including Tejas, Manikarnika Returns and The Incarnation: Sita in her kitty.
The National Award-winning actress is also busy with Emergency, which she is producing under her home banner.
