Tata Motors JLR Q2 Sales Update Miss On Target But Orderbook Yet Again At Record Level | ET Now

Tata Motors came up with it Q2 JLR sales update, where sales increased but remain constrained by semi-conductor shortage issue. Retail sales up 12% QoQ but down 5% YoY at 88,121 units. While wholesales sales showed improvement of 4% QoQ at 75,307(excluding China JV) but was lower than planned. The company states that lower than expected supply of specialized chips from one supplier which could not be readily re-sourced impacted primarily. The orderbook remains at record levels, reflecting strong customer demand. The company registered an orderbook of 205k in Q2 with New Range Rover, New Range Rover Sport and Defender accounting for over 145,000 of the 205,000 orders (71%). On the outlook the company they expect to further improve the performance with Free cashflow also expected to be positive in H2.
