The members of the entertainment fraternity as well as fans have been keeping a close tab on Raju Srivastava’s health updates. The ace comedian suffered a heart attack on August 10, Wednesday, post which he was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
It’s been almost a week since Raju has remained under the observation of doctors. On August 16, Tuesday, his personal secretary Garvit Narang shared a positive update about his health. The update from Garvit comes shortly after reports of Raju being critical and on life support left his admirers worried.
"The health condition of Raju Srivastava is improving. We pray that he recovers soon,” Garvit was quoted as saying by PTI. After being admitted to AIIMS last week, Raju underwent an angioplasty.
Prior to this, reports were doing rounds that the 58-year-old comic is not showing any improvement and continues to be on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. “He remains critical and on life support. There has been no improvement in his condition. He continues to be unconscious. He suffered brain damage after heart attack,” read an earlier PTI report.
A few days back, Raju’s family too had issued a statement in which they requested his well-wishers to not believe in any sort of rumour or false news.
“Dear all, Raju Srivastava's condition is stable. We are praying for his speedy recovery. The doctors are treating him and doing their best. Thanks to all the well-wishers for their continued love and support. Please ignore rumour/fake news being circulated. Please pray for him," his family said in their statement.
Raju suffered a heart attack while he was working out at the gym. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to have called up Raju’s wife to enquire about his condition while also wishing him a speedy recovery.
