Arjun Kapoor hints at Ranbir Kapoor's drinking problem; says, 'He has been living up to the Kapoor surname'

And the recent episode of the Karan Johar chat show was no different. Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor were at their uninhibited best as they spilled the beans on matters close to their heart.
During one such segment, when Karan Johar asked Arjun, who would be drunk if he goes on a vacation with his friends; the Kapoor lad replied without battling an eyelid. "If you were to go on a vacation with friends, who would be drunk AF?” asked KJo.
And without mincing any words, the Ek Villain Returns actor said, “Of late he has been living up to the Kapoor surname.” Arjun's statement takes us back to Ranbir Kapoor's revelation about his father Rishi Kapoor's drinking problems.
"I don’t have a drinking addiction but yes I have a tendency to drink a lot. When I start, I don’t stop. I guess it’s in my blood, you know my family is.. They are all very fond of alcohol. So, yes it’s in my genes to drink," the Brahmastra actor had reportedly told Vogue in an interview.
In his interviews, Ranbir Kapoor has often expressed the Kapoor family's love for food and alcohol. It is no secret that Ranbir's father, Rishi Kapoor was also quite fond of alcohol. “The only thing he wanted to do was eat a good Chinese meal, have four whiskeys, and get back to Sharmaji Namkeen, that was his purpose," Ranbir had told Film Companion about what made his father beat cancer before the relapse.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are expecting their first child sometime towards the end of this year. The duo is also eagerly awaiting the release of their magnum opus - Brahmastra.
