PM Modi opts for a white kurta, pajama with blue nehru jacket and tricolored safa as he unfurls India's national flag at I-Day celebrations

PM Modi arrived at the Red Fort to begin the 76th Independence Day celebrations. For the occasion, the Prime Minister opted to go with the colours of the national flag. He paired his white kurta, pajama with a blue Nehru jacket and a kesari safa. Take a look.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Red Fort to join the Independence Day functions. PM Modi will address the country from the Red Fort on the occasion of the 76th Independence day of India. Before hoisting the national flag, the Prime Minister visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
For the I-day celebrations, PM Modi opted to go for a lighter shade kurta-pajama. He donned a white kurta-pajama and a blue colored Nehru jacket (representing the colour of the chakra) for the occasion. Modi completed the look with a white safa with tricolor prints all over it.

PM Modi also inspected the Guard of Honour at the Red Fort. In his address to the nation, he spoke about the contribution of tribals during India's freedom struggles. He also hailed India's 'women power' in his speech. "The citizens are thankful to Bapu, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar who gave their lives on the path of duty," he said.

"Every India is filled with pride when they remember the strength of the women of India- be it Rani Laxmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Chennamma, Begun Hazrat Mahal," he further added.
PM Modi also called India the 'Mother of Democracy' in his I-Day speech. "Many people had expressed concerns before Independence that the exit of the British will throw India into disarray. We have proved them wrong," he said.
PM Modi also added that the people of this country want a positive change and they want it at a quick pace. He also called India an 'aspirational country'. He also referred to the Indian democracy as 'vibrant' with over 91 crore voters. "There were problems of food security, war, terrorism, natural calamities but India marched forward against all odds," the Prime Minister of the country said.
PM Modi also urged Indians not to get laid back and complacent. He added that this will deviate us from our vision. He also called it the 'new vision of India'.
