KGF Chapter 2 crosses Rs 400 crore mark in Hindi at box office, will Yash-starrer cross Prabhas' Baahubali The Conclusion?

Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 has been continuing to break all records ever since the film hit the theatres. The Hindi dubbed version of the Kannada film has now crossed the Rs 400 crore mark. Yes, you read it right. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan confirmed with his tweet that it is the first sandalwood film to enter Rs 400 crore club.

He tweeted, “#KGFChapter2ZOOMS past ₹400 cr in Hindi. First ever Sandalwood movie to enter. this ELITE club.”

The Hindi version of the film took only 11 days to reach the Rs 300 crore mark and it had become the second highest grossing film on May 4. It even surpassed the lifetime collection of Dangal.

Interestingly, the only film that has managed to gross more than KGF Chapter 2 was Prabhas starrer Baahubali: The Conclusion. The S Rajamouli’s directorial film is the only one that had grossed more than Rs 400 crores at the box office. In fact, the film had earned a total of Rs 397.95 crores by the end of third week. KGF 2 needs another Rs 100 crores to beat Baahubali 2.

Given the numbers, the film is expected to collect somewhere around Rs 402 crores by the end of the end of the weekend. Since, Doctor Strange The Multiverse of Madness released today, there is a chance that KGF 2 might witness a downfall in its collection. However, the film has survived several big releases such as Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Heropanti 2 and Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Runway 34.

KGF Chapter 2 released in theatres on April 14. Apart from Yash, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. A sequel of the film is also in the making and the hint for the same was dropped by the end of the second instalment.
