The temporary high of alcoholic beverages is cool ad fun too – but what comes after may not always be fun. The next morning is all about hangovers, dehydration and more. The discomfort is often accompanied by nausea, diarrhoea, fatigue, headaches and more. And when the weekend thrill seeps into a weekday like Monday, it becomes further difficult to manage everything at work.

  1. Drink lots of fluids: Hydrating fluids such as coconut water, orange juice and water can help treat dehydration naturally. This replenishes the loss of liquids that the body goes through after a session of cocktails.
  2. Get some carbs: Drinking too much alcohol, dehydration, hangover and its consequent side effects can be very distressing. Therefore, it is advised to get some carbohydrates in the system to regular blood sugar levels and treat fatigue and headaches. Carbs are the fuel of the body and can work in fighting fatigue.
  3. Avoid dark-coloured alcohol: Beer whiskey and rum are more likely to give a hangover as opposed to light-coloured beverages like gin and vodka. Therefore, to keep hangover risk at bay, opt for these over-the-dark alcoholic beverages and drink in moderation.
  4. Drink coffee: When a hangover strikes, a cup of coffee can help treat the same naturally. Caffeine, a natural stimulant can be a great way to get better quickly.
