Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia student shot at & injured by another student inside Holy Family Hospital

According to police, information about a fight at the library of the Jamia Millia Islamia university was received around 8:50 pm. According to the officer, one student sustained a blunt injury to his head in the incident and was taken to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
New Delhi: In yet another shocking incident, a Jamia Millia Islamia student was allegedly shot by another student inside the Holy Family Hospital in the Jamia Nagar neighbourhood of southeast Delhi on Thursday night.
According to police, information about a fight at the library of the Jamia Millia Islamia university was received around 8:50 pm.
A senior police officer said, "an investigation revealed that two groups of students had gotten into a fight."
According to the officer, one student sustained a blunt injury to his head in the incident and was taken to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
The injured student was identified as Noman Chaudhary (26), who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district.
Police claimed that Nauman Ali, a student and a friend of Nauman Chaudhary, also paid a visit to the hospital to see his friend.
While this was going on, Zalal, a student from the second group and a resident of Haryana's Mewat, arrived at the hospital with his friends and opened fire on Nauman Ali outside the emergency room, the officer added.
Nauman Ali had a superficial scalp wound. Nauman Ali was transported to the trauma centre at AIIMS. The crime scene is being examined by the police.
The Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony police stations have taken appropriate legal action, the officer said.
