The much-awaited Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan's Adipurush's first teaser was unveiled a couple of days ago. After its release, the film garnered backlash for its bad CGI and VFX. The film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, essaying the role of Raghav, Janaki and Lankesh respectively.
After facing the backlash, the filmmaker Om Raut finally broke his silence and urged everyone that he and his team have done "nothing wrong in this film."
During the interaction with a news portal, the director of the film talked about the portrayal character of Ravana in Adipurush as they compared Saif's look to actor Ranveer's Khilji in Padmaavat.
He told India Today, "We have not done anything wrong in this film. People are getting a few things wrong here. With this film, we want to introduce the story of Lord Ram to the world. We want to spread his teachings among the youth."
Om Raut further added, "If we represent it in a way through which we can reach the new generation, then only we can talk to the new generation. Is there any less belief in this because of this? No. We have maintained the sanctity of everything."
Resonating with Saif Ali Khan's actor, the filmmaker shared, "The Ravana that we saw earlier was an artistic representation of the evil that Ravana was. My Ravana is demonic too, but in today’s time, if I picturise Ravana like this, then that is it. If you say, that I have changed his colour, then I disagree. It’s the same colour, it’s the colour of religion."
Talking about the film, Adipurush is based on the epic Ramayana and is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 12, 2023. The film will release in multiple languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
