Bihar: 6-year-old dies after being beaten by teacher for not doing homework

Gaya: A six-year-old kid died in the Gaya district of Bihar after a teacher beat him up for not doing homework, reported local media. The child was studying in class 3rd, living in the same hostel of the school.
According to the police, the kid from the village was found lying unconscious outside the school gate on Wednesday. His whole face was swollen and blood was pouring from his nose, according to the villager. The uniform was also torn. He died on the way to the hospital.
The victim was studying in Little Leaders Public School near Badhi Bigha village in the Gaya district. His house was 3 km away from the school, so the family kept him in the hostel of the school, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
After the death of the child, the family created a ruckus outside the school. After this, the police arrested the school director Vikas Singh on Wednesday evening. A case of murder has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The school has also been temporarily shut after the death of the child and all the children have been sent home from the hostel.
The child's grandfather Rambalak Prasad has accused the school of assault and murder of the child. He told the police that the child had complained about the assault earlier also, but the school people had said that it will not happen again. After that everything was fine till now.
Prasad said that his grandson Vivek Kumar was beaten up by the teacher Vikas Kumar Singh and thrown out of the school, after which he lay unconscious for hours outside the school at some distance.
