Honda showcases the Activa Premium Edition, gets new golden wheels

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India have released an official photo of their upcoming Activa 6G Premium edition scooter. Thus clearly hinting at its positive launch in the coming days. The company had earlier released teaser images of the same showcasing the model’s distinct golden insert on the front apron. That had cancelled out speculations about Honda launching an entirely new scooter.

Automakers usually tend to introduce new special editions of their existing badges, and Honda is following the same route with its best-selling scooter in the Indian market. Not much information is available about the upcoming Active G Premium editions as of yet. Given that it retains the same body design, the rest of the hardware should also remain the same. Special note to that new brown-toned single-seat with this edition and the new golden-coloured wheel hubs. There are no disc brakes, as was expected when the first teaser images were revealed.

Mechanically, the standard Activa 6G is powered by the 109 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 7.8 hp at 8,000 rpm and 8.84 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by CVT. The Activa 6G Premium edition is expected to retain the same setup.

Prices for the Activa range are between ₹72,400 - ₹74,400, the Activa 6G Premium edition is expected to command a premium over the standard models. Also, in this price range, the Activa 6G competes against TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access.
