As a precautionary measure, Mayank Agarwal has been flown in to the UK to act as a cover for the Indian skipper.
The two however share a pretty strong bond amongst each other, as evidenced from a tweet by Mayank Agarwal on Rohit Sharma's 33rd birthday on April 30,2020. In the tweet, the Punjab Kings captain credited Rohit Sharma for guiding him to his first Test century against South Africa in Vishakhapatnam.
"Throwback to this special moment with @ImRo45 as he guided me to my first test hundred. Happy Birthday, Rohit!" Agarwal tweeted.

Agarwal, on the other hand went on to achieve something even more extraordinary. he converted his first Test ton to his first double century. The right hander scored 215 runs from 371 balls, in an innings studded with 23 fours and six sixes. Both the openers guided India to a score of 502-7
Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, scored another century in the second innings as well. He smashed 127 runs from 149 deliveries with 10 fours and seven sixes. Rohit's centuries in both innings heled India win the match by 203 runs, and earn him a Man of the Match Trophy as well.
India take on England in a one-off Test Match starting July 1, after the series in September 2021 was called off after four Test Matches due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. India are leading the series 2-1 and even a draw would ensure their first Test series win on English soil since 2007.
